Lately: The New Year
New Years Eve was a blast this year. Sometimes that holiday feels really anticlimactic, but I spent it with great friends.
Two of our clients, Modern Skirts and Kishi Bashi played at Georgia Theatre.
I wanted to make the most out of my one sequin occasion of the year. I was going for Beyonce, But I'm afraid I landed on Kardashian.
Phillip landed on Gram Parsons with these fancy pants.
Bundled up and ended up channeling Mattie Ross.
Received a beautiful letterpress save the date that unfortunately falls on the same day as another wedding I'm in.
Jojo hooked me up with this amazing vintage Western shirt.
Made more time to revisit a few records at home.
This month has been full of lots of mellow friend times, like a bonfire to burn heaps of old stage risers. (Thanks, of Montreal!)

Arrowhead Vintage booth at Agora
Welp, I forgot to make an important announcement way back in November. Arrowhead Vintage, this blog's namesake side-hustle, now has a booth in the brick-and-mortar vintage boutique Agora, in downtown Athens, GA. (I also set them up an Instagram account. Follow @agora_vintage!)
The vintage items are sourced partly from my stock from Ohh, Boy!, a vintage shop I had a few years back with my pal Kimberly, and partly from my own borderline-hoarder closet. I also stock new accessories if you're into American flags, turquoise, skulls, and Southwestern vibes.
After several of you asking if I would ship, I've started working on a storefront page for this blog (thanks for sharing your knowledge, Natasha). It will be new accessories, with the occasional vintage item. I feel better selling most vintage at Agora, unless it's so pristine that I could smoothly sell it to someone based on photos alone. I'm excited to learn more HTML while building the shop page!

Ticket Giveaway: The Music Tapes at 40 Watt 1/25!
The Music Tapes are bringing The Traveling Imaginary to 40 Watt this Friday, and we're giving away a pair of tickets to the early show (doors at 8, show at 8:30.) I'm especially excited about this show since Julian, the sweet friend I got my dog Majesty from, will be playing inside of a traveling circus tent, a long-time dream of his. His performances are a magical, hypnotic, and transportive mix of songs, games, and stories.

Hear: Unknown Mortal Orchestra - "So Good At Being In Trouble"
Unknown Mortal Orchestra shared a new track today, aptly described at "psychedelic R&B." "So Good at Being in Trouble" is a cut from their upcoming album II, out February 5 on Jagjaguwar. They also announced a slew of tour dates, so it looks like I'll be heading to Atlanta on 2/23 to catch them at 529.

Stoessel (guitar), Nick Sterchi (now the band’s new drummer),
Jeremy Wheatley (drums, also of Crooked Fingers), and Thayer Sarrano (vocals) into the studio to record Peyote People. They'll be playing the EP this Friday at the Fabulous 40 Watt.

Hear: White Laces - "Moves"
Today I was sick. Then my pal Brad from Ad Hoc sent me White Laces' album MOVES. I'm still sick, if not getting worse, but my plugged up ears are very happy. Fans of DIIV and Wild Nothing will enjoy this Richmond band.
Home Tour: My House
I have a blast photographing home tour posts, and last year I had the camera turned around on my own home for my friend Mattie's blog. (Can you believe I kept it clean long enough to get through every room?) Some of my favorite shots of my place are below, and you can view the entire post at Somethings.
>>------>
I made a Dia De Los Muertos display in our window for Halloween, and we decided to keep Skelly (a Hometapes family heirloom) in the window all year round.

My roommate bought me this crawfish alphabet print while running around junk shops in New Orleans with the prop department for "Beasts of the Southern Wild." The silver stars are leftover decorations from Julian Koster's Music Tapes caroling tour a few years ago.
Clear glass votive holders make handy pots for tiny succulents, especially if you catch them 50% off at Hobby Lobby. I've had some of these plants almost four years. The long skinny crystal is selenite, a gift from a friend to protect our home.
I mixed my own custom colored chalkboard paint for the kitchen. My dad and I went to the range with these vintage targets (unintentionally vintage... he keeps things a longgg time :) and I'll be framing them soon. Something about them reminds me of an old Bond movie.

Antlers from dad // boots stamped with Bicentenial jangles // map of the
heavens from an old National Georgraphic // gold foam ceiling tiles
(super cheap on eBay) // hooks of festival badges from work trips past.
Jordache jeans pillowcase // sheepskin blanket // the record corner.

Painting from Lauren Gregg // my late dog's collar made by Jonny Corndawg // salt crystal lamps // smudge stick // Wild Unknown Tarot. Beautiful deck. // Necklace from one of my favorite clients, Page from Dream Boat / Hope for Agoldensummer. She could it at a powwow in Portland. // My favorite candles right now are earthy scents, and clean burning Mrs. Meyer's.
// Linoleum floor cloth DIY //
// This sofa has been with me since college, which is part of why I keep
it hidden under blankets. Our living room is the touring band hotel. //
// Security system next to the front door //
// Bathroom door is wallpapered with 70s childrens' encyclopedia pages.
It's held up pretty well over the years with just double stick tape! //
// I love Jose Pulido's prints. //

Later on I realized something was missing from these home tour photos...
This little lady! Willie Mae!
And this roommate wrestling with her!
Now that's more like home!
