Album/Outfit: New Order x Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala

A special edition of Album/Outfit arrives from the brilliant brain of Maura, a friend I very much admire. Maura commented after seeing Kim Kardashian's gown for the Met's Punk Gala, "kim kardashian thought it was the post-punk ball so she went as the cover of 'power, corruption and lies' [sic.] Bravo, Maura! Did anyone else notice any Album/Outfit worthy get-ups last night?

After the same look? Might be wise to forgo the the floor length gown, and try these rose floral options instead:

Hear: Majical Cloudz - "Bugs Don't Buzz"

My friends Majical Cloudz released a new track today via Matador Records. It was so nice to have Devon and Matthew (and Neil!) in town visiting Monday on their day off from tour. I always love getting to play Athens tour guide.

Majical Cloudz had one of the most moving live performances I've seen in the last year. The seemingly simple setup of Matthew's atmospheric washes of rhythm and synths, and Devon's vocals takes shape as something larger and powerful. Devon's highly personal lyrics leave a room silent and rapt on every word. I'm also pretty sure Devon's figured out how to stare into the souls of every person in a room simultaneously, but I haven't quite confirmed that yet. I'll have to remember to ask next time.
