Current Glossier Favorites

Confession time: I once assumed Glossier was all hype and ultra-sheer products for models with already perfect skin. Now I'm a full-on acolyte. I've always been bad about not washing my face before bed, moisturizing, yada yada, (Sorry, Stephanie!) but their whole vibe makes it a fun ritual. I won't remember to use things unless they are sitting out, and their beautiful packaging is fun on the shelf while packing some quality products.

I write this while getting ready for bed, my face slathered with Moon Mask. Once a week I've been sleeping it in and rinsing off in the morning, to counteract the space heater in my room at night that takes the edge off our drafty 115+ year old house.

Below are the eight products I've tried and liked best. I'm curious to hear what your experiences have been, and what I should try next!

Boy Brow

After trying brow kits, powders, pencils, tinted wax kits, etc., this is the best brow product I've ever used, since I prefer a subtle look. I always found other products a little too easy to go overboard with, and a light hand w/ Boy Brow is just the subtle definition I'm going for. Because I want super villain wit, not super villain eye brows.

Generation G Lip Color

I would much rather something wear off evenly than be long wear, so Gen G is perfect for me. I love the red Zip shade since I have a hard time finding reds that are more fire engine / school house than fushia undertoned. You can put this on without looking, and it's matte and creamy!

Haloscope Highlighter

I used to HATE shimmer in ANY kind of makeup, so much that I used to buy a darker skin tone pressed powder to use as bronzer, since I had trouble finding bronzer without shimmer. This year I came around to the wonders highlighter can accomplish on your brow bones, inner eye, cheek bones, or cupids bow (but I wouldn't try all 4 at once, lest ye be mistaken for a disco ball.) I've always preferred gold shimmer to silver, so I love the "topaz" Haloscope. It's generously sized, so I'm set for a year or more.

Cool Company: Zoya Nail Polish

Zoya makes quality nail polish in an endless variety of colors (I spent more time than I'd like to admit trying to narrow it down to just three.) What sets them apart is that their polishes don't contain all the scary chemicals that I'd rather not voluntarily apply to my body: toluene, formaldehyde, DBP (phthalates) and camphor. Their shipping wasn't particularly fast for $10 flat, but the polishes are very long wearing (especially if you are patient and let each thin coat dry fully before the next.) According to their website, they won the title of longest wearing natural nail polish by an independent panel in Women’s Health Magazine. At $8 a bottle, Zoya polishes are only a few dollars above drugstore prices for a safer, longer wearing product. It would be nice to see them in person before buying, but I was happy with the colors I ordered.
