Inspiration: Happy Birthday, Dolly Parton!
What a week of birthdays- Martin Luther King, Jr., Francoise Hardy, and this weekend, Dolly Parton. I'm reviving this post from a few years back, and adding to it to celebrate all things Dolly. And mark my words: this WILL be the year I make it to Dollywood.

Style Inspiration: Anjelica Huston
I think my Anjelica Huston girl-crush woman-crush began senior year of highschool. "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" had just been released, and I decided I wanted to be just like Eleanor Zissou when I grew up: brilliant, elegant, witty, knowledgeable, covered in chunky turquoise jewelery, with dark blue streaks through her long dark hair. Years later, I'd still like to be Anjelica Huston when I grow up. (Images link to the blogs they were found on.)

Twin Peaks-inspired Elle fashion spread
I'm a big Twin Peaks fan, so I was excited to learn of this Elle fashion spread in the August 2012 issue, set in a very Black Lodge scene.
I found these images on WelcomeToTwinPeaks.com, but I'll be picking up a copy from the newsstand to take with me on a bachelorette trip this month: the first time I can recall flying anywhere NOT for work since college.

Style Inspiration: Kate Bush
Kate Bush: Where to even begin? Icon and innovator, in my mind, she paved the way for artists like Bjork and Joanna Newsom. Her clothing choices are so full of drama and move and flow with her; just theatrical enough, and adding to the performance without drawing the attention away from her music.
Fun fact: "A family friend, Ricky Hopper, heard her music and brought Bush to the attention of Pink Floyd lead guitarist David Gilmour, who arranged for the 15-year-old Bush to record her first demo." At 16, she signed to EMI and began deciding which of her 200 songs would become her first record. (All Music)
Endless admiration.
