I really enjoyed seeing Twerps at our SXSW showcase, so it's a bummer that I won't be able to make it their show this Saturday at The 40 Watt w/ Real Estate. But YOU should still go! And check out the rest of Australian label Chapter Music's roster. They are also on Underwater Peoples in the US.
(Tangent about Chapter Music: at SXSW two years ago, I met someone from Chapter Music because he mistook me for DeeDee from Dum Dum Girls. I don't see the resemblance, though I guess I had bangs and red lipstick (and a giant girl-crush on her,) and I was standing with some Sub-Pop folks right after they played, but I was EXTREMELY flattered. Whoa. I think he was pretty disappointed to realize I was just a mere mortal, but I got a Chapter Music sampler out of the encounter. So, very nice Chapter Music gentleman who I met, if this Twerps post appears in your Google Alerts, thanks again for making my evening! :)
