I write this while getting ready for bed, my face slathered with Moon Mask. Once a week I've been sleeping it in and rinsing off in the morning, to counteract the space heater in my room at night that takes the edge off our drafty 115+ year old house.
Below are the eight products I've tried and liked best. I'm curious to hear what your experiences have been, and what I should try next!
Boy Brow
After trying brow kits, powders, pencils, tinted wax kits, etc., this is the best brow product I've ever used, since I prefer a subtle look. I always found other products a little too easy to go overboard with, and a light hand w/ Boy Brow is just the subtle definition I'm going for. Because I want super villain wit, not super villain eye brows.
Generation G Lip Color
I would much rather something wear off evenly than be long wear, so Gen G is perfect for me. I love the red Zip shade since I have a hard time finding reds that are more fire engine / school house than fushia undertoned. You can put this on without looking, and it's matte and creamy!
Haloscope Highlighter
I used to HATE shimmer in ANY kind of makeup, so much that I used to buy a darker skin tone pressed powder to use as bronzer, since I had trouble finding bronzer without shimmer. This year I came around to the wonders highlighter can accomplish on your brow bones, inner eye, cheek bones, or cupids bow (but I wouldn't try all 4 at once, lest ye be mistaken for a disco ball.) I've always preferred gold shimmer to silver, so I love the "topaz" Haloscope. It's generously sized, so I'm set for a year or more.
Pink Bubble Pouches
All Glossier orders come in these cute bubble-wrap ziplock pouches. When I travel or get ready at the gym, these are amazing at protecting cosmetics at risk of crumbling or cracking in transit and liquids at risk of leaking. And they're clear and quart-sized, so the TSA gives me less grief. They're so popular you can even order extras, three for $12.
Stretch Concealer
I'm about to hit 30 (and no one's face is made of smooth molded plastic) so concealer always seems to collect in my under-eye creases. This is a great light coverage concealer that wears smoothly all day for me without giving me stark-contrast light under eyes on days I don't wear any face makeup.
Mask Duo: Mega Greens Galaxy pack + Moon Mask
I LUH a good face mask, and this pair are super fun. I've never actually had a stereotypical green mud mask, and this one detoxifies with a white kaolin clay base and nutrient-rich greens. You'll want to quote Old Greg while wearing it. The Moon Mask is the first moisturizing mask I've owned. " It’s formulated with honey, aloe, and plant-based squalane to plump skin up with moisture and restore elasticity." I run a space heater overnight in the winter since our old house walls are made of Swiss cheese, so sometimes I wear this overnight to protect me from the dry heat.
The Super Pack
Y'all know I'm a sucker for good packaging, and this was probably the most knock-it-out-of-the-park presentation of any Glossier product I've ordered, which is saying a lot because their packaging experience is always on point. I have to have things out to remember to use them, and these are pretty on a shelf.
"They’re supplements for your face: potent, fast-absorbing treatment serums packed with vital nutrients to bring your skin the boost it needs today. Because you’re not just a “skin type”—your needs change throughout the month, and your product lineup should help you adapt. Some days skin feels dull, like after an all-nighter. Enter: Super Glow. Some days it’s stressed and breaking out—sounds like a job for Super Pure. Super Bounce eases tight, dehydrated skin (think: hangovers, long flights). Use after cleansing, before moisturizer."
Priming Moisturizer Rich
"This dense, sumptuous cream is rich in ceramides and fatty acids, reinforcing the skin barrier and locking in moisture over time. Our Anti-Redness Complex and Oxygenating Agent are the priming ingredients, instantly making skin a smooth, dewy canvas for makeup (or not)" just say no more. As a huge fan of gobbing on moisturizer Ms. Doubtfire style before bed or during hours when I'm not leaving the house, this sounds magical. Even if I had the cash, I couldn't bring myself to shell out the dough for La Mer, so maybe this is a cheaper alternative?
