Women in Science prints by Rachel Ignotofsky
Came across these cleverly illustrated women in science portraits this morning on artist Rachel Ignotofsky's Etsy shop. Wouldn't these be great for a girl's bedroom or playroom?

Publicity Lunch 'n Learn for Athens Area Arts Council 11/11
![]() |
Photo: Paige French |
On November 11th at The Lyndon House, I'll be presenting a Lunch 'n Learn for the Athens Area Arts Council as part of their monthly series focused on professional practices for artists.
Over the years I've secured coverage for my clients in national publications like NPR, Vogue, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Pitchfork, late-night television programs, and tastemaker blogs. I've also written for Paste, The Daily Beast, Design*Sponge, Urban Outfitters' blog, and more, and I teach music PR at UGA. I'm excited to adapt my knowledge to DIY tips for musicians, visual artists, and creative types.
Full event info here.
Hope you can make it!
And, a big thank you as always to Paige French for taking the photo above. I can't recommend her enough for professional photos that don't look stuffy.

Stay Home Club + Black Friday code
Black Friday? More like Whack Friday, amirite? I'll be spending it on my parents sofa, where I am currently curled up still in pajamas, fighting crowds of my two parents and the family dogs to get to the fridge, which makes today the perfect time to talk about Stay Home Club. I found out about Stay Home Club after my friend Lauren Gregg made this sweet pennant:
Now through Monday, enter the code DAINTYFRIDAY to receive 20% off, plus $5 flat rate shipping in the US of A.
Now go stay home and check out some of my favorite items below:

The Wild Unknown Zodiac Prints
The Wild Unknown, makers of my favorite tarot deck, have announced a series of zodiac prints. I might just have to get myself the Taurus print for my birthday next month. As you'd expect from The Wild Unknown, these prints are earthy, inspiring, and unique interpretations of each sign.

Look: Wilmer Murillo
Drawing from Eastern influences and retro sci-fi films, and wrapping it all up with a modern take on both, Honduras-based artist Wilmer Murillo creates mesmerizing prints.
Fab.com is running a sale on them right now, and I'm trying to restrain myself from ordering them all, then ordering frames for them all... then ordering new decor to go with the prints... then...
If you aren't already a member of Fab, here's a referral link. Just don't blame me when you can't so no to their daily emails. I caved in on this Kate Spade iPhone case yesterday.

Lauren Gregg's Moonrise Kingdom dog print + Reggie's vet bill fundraiser!
Meet Reggie. Reggie belongs to my friends Shil and Lauren. Reggie has bad skin allergies, and the vets still can't figure out what is wrong. That adds up to some pricey vet bills.
Lauren made this painting of Snoopy, the dog from Moonrise Kingdom, for a Wes Anderson themed art show in San Francisco called Bad Dads. All proceeds from the prints she sells will go toward Reggie's vet bills! Right now you can receive 30% off her whole Etsy shop with the code ilovereggie! I have one of Lauren's paintings in my room, and it means so much to me.

Art & Design: Eleanor Davis
While working on a special project for Design*Sponge with my friend Natasha (I can't wait until it's published and I can show it to everyone!) I learned that illustrator Eleanor Davis lives right here in Athens, GA. I really like her work, and I hope you will, too!
You can follow her sketch blog here. I specially enjoyed the Big Freedia comic.
The looming male figure in the distance reminds me of the "night-walker" the Spirit of the Forest turns into in Princess Mononoke!
